The excellent Josh Gorfain put together a couple of one-sheets for the book, let me know what you think of the results and if you think one works better than the other:

I think the first one works a lot better. Gives you an idea that something is behind the door or something will happen if you open the door. Just having the door doesn't quite give you the same effect. There's no tension there.
